Versailles by Night

If you ever get the chance to wander through the rooms of the palace at night, here is what you might see. This very room is actually currently used by a very high ranking personality as a personal office.

Drawing room. King's Pavilion, First Floor.

  1. Dude, how did you gain access to such a room to take pictures? Are you working security inside the palace?
I wonder what's in the dresser thingy.

    Way cool.

  2. I don't think you are allowed to be there at night if it's not your own appartment.

    1. Well, you would be right if I was indeed trespassing unlawfully on a private apartments. I couldn't indeed enter those without reason, even for a patrol, head of security though I am. But you have to know that some apartments, either used only during the day by personalities and thus empty at night or not in use for a time are patrolled on a regular basis with the permission or even by request of the occupants.

  3. I am indeed fortunate enough to be head of the palace's security staff. In that respect I have access to many rooms during security patrols. As for the content of what you call a dresser, if the piece of furniture is situated in a private apartments, I am not allowed to check it (unless I have a real suspicion it may contain a dangerous device like a bomb) and less so to reveal it!
